With over 20 years of experience, Swee Eng is a seasoned technologist currently leading our Asia-Pacific Technology Controls Office. She is a strong advocate for women in technology and leadership and builds upon our culture of inclusion and well-being. Swee Eng is a member of the Leaders of Tomorrow mentoring program in the Asia-Pacific region and volunteers her time to teach kids how to build robots and code in the Python programming language.

What I Do
I enable the business to identify and manage technology risks aligned with the Bank's strategy and risk appetite. This includes maintaining an effective technology controls environment and navigating governance, legal and regulatory requirements.
Proud Moment
I joined TD Securities in September 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic when most of our colleagues were working from home. Balancing a prolonged remote working environment has been difficult for the team against a backdrop of increasing cybersecurity and technology risks and a shifting regulatory landscape. Despite the challenges of working remotely, I was able to get up to speed and perform my role effectively.
I manage a dynamic team of specialists with varying levels of experience to deliver our mandate of keeping the Bank safe and secure. I am proud to lead a team with an inclusive mindset that embraces thought leadership and diversity and operates with a deep mutual respect.

Advice To My Younger Self
Keep it up! Feed your curiosity and be persistent. Try as many different things as you can without fear of failure. Learn from the journey. Remember to give yourself a pat on the back and well-deserved rest for your hard work.
