What I Do:
I am a fixed income salesperson covering asset managers, banks and private banks based in Singapore and Hong Kong. Acting as a trusted advisor, I leverage my client relationships, and markets and product knowledge to deliver the best outcomes for TD and its clients. I'm passionate about talent management and have taken leading roles in our intern and graduate recruitment programs. Recently, I have taken on my first direct report and am excited at the experience I will gain taking on this new managerial challenge.
Proud Moment:
One of life's biggest challenges is adapting to change and how we cope with it defines us. A proud moment was switching from clinical research to the finance industry. It was daunting at first, but I knew I wanted a more dynamic, challenging and fulfilling role. Despite having little background in finance, I dug in, completed a part-time postgraduate finance degree in the evenings and learned on the job (lots of late nights in the office) through many impromptu teachings from colleagues and clients alike. I am blessed to have had good mentors and colleagues encouraging and teaching me throughout my career, and I aspire to pay that forward now.
Advice to My Younger Self:
Laugh heartily. Love freely. Travel widely. Listen keenly. Be open to people. Talk to strangers. Appreciate varying viewpoints. Throw a party. Throw a few more. Check in on others. Check in on yourself. Slow down your pace. Dance in the rain. Enjoy the ride.
